Disney Believe vs. Wish, Treasure and Destiny: Should You Wait?

Disney Believe makes the Wish-class decision more interesting, but there is an important distinction: Wish, Treasure and Destiny are ships you can evaluate through their current sailings. Believe is upcoming. Choosing between them means balancing a known vacation with the possibility of a future one.

Information checked October 5, 2026. Disney Believe is an announced ship expected in late 2027. The next official reveal is October 7 at 4:30 p.m. Eastern, 3:30 p.m. Central. See Disney’s reveal announcement.

I’m Stephanie Howard, founder of Traveling Ears Vacations and a Platinum Castaway Club member. I have sailed every currently operating Disney Cruise Line ship at least three times. Believe has not launched, so my perspective here combines that firsthand sailing experience with Disney’s published announcements. Traveling Ears Vacations is a boutique Disney Earmarked Gold agency with four travel advisors. Our planning goes beyond choosing a ship: we help clients weigh stateroom locations, connecting-room options, nearby activity and the daily routes that can make a cruise easier. We also stay in touch with Disney Cast Members as part of our ongoing learning and planning.

My room experience includes concierge, verandah, family verandah and deluxe verandah stays. For Believe, I will pair that experience with its own published room details rather than assume a sister ship’s layout is identical.

Should you wait for Disney Believe?

I would consider waiting if your dates are flexible and seeing Disney’s next ship is a meaningful part of the trip for you. I would lean toward an available sailing if you have a fixed celebration, school break or destination in mind. The new ship should fit the vacation you want, not force every other part of the plan to change.

Ship Announced identity How to compare it
Disney Wish Enchantment Start with its available dates and the experiences that appeal to your family.
Disney Treasure Adventure Compare the specific itinerary and whether you have enough time for the onboard experiences you value.
Disney Destiny Heroes and villains Consider how its storytelling fits your interests, then compare practical travel arrangements.
Disney Believe Upcoming Wish-class ship Treat it as a future option until its actual sailings, room choices and venue details can be evaluated.

Disney describes the sister ships’ themes in its official Believe announcement. A shared class does not mean every venue or cabin arrangement will be interchangeable.

The comparison I would make before choosing a ship

First, compare the actual number of nights you can take away from home. Include flights or driving, any hotel stay and the return trip. A sailing that looks convenient on a calendar may feel rushed if the travel around it is difficult.

Second, compare what your family wants to do. Some families want a relaxed rhythm with plenty of time together. Others want specific dining experiences, shows or character encounters. Make a short list of the things that would genuinely influence your choice, then check whether each is confirmed for the ship and sailing.

Third, compare the right room categories. A fare comparison means little if one option comfortably fits your party and another does not. Verify occupancy, sleeping arrangements, accessibility and connecting availability before judging value.

When waiting for Believe may make sense

You can travel after its expected debut, you are comfortable waiting for official details, and the emerging ship concept interests your family. Waiting gives you the opportunity to evaluate the new option. It does not guarantee a lower fare, a particular cabin or access to the first sailing.

When I would keep Wish, Treasure or Destiny on the shortlist

You want a trip before Believe launches, already know which onboard experience matters most, or have found a sailing that fits your calendar and budget. A newer option arriving later does not make a good vacation on an operating ship less worthwhile.

For detailed pairings, read Wish versus Treasure, Treasure versus Destiny and Destiny versus Wish. Those pages keep their focus on the two ships being compared.

What should we avoid assuming about Believe?

Do not carry over restaurant names, cabin numbers, waterslide rules or departure ports from a sister ship. Even when a general planning principle is useful across the class, the exact offering should come from Believe’s own information.

My advice for families deciding now

Choose your nonnegotiables first: travel dates, room needs, total budget and the kind of vacation you want. Then we can see whether Believe deserves a place beside the options already available. That approach gives you a clear decision even while more announcements are still coming.
