Pool rules to know before choosing a sailing
Disney’s current policy does not allow swim diapers in pools, whirlpool spas or waterslides. Children age 4 and younger may use designated water-play areas in swim diapers. Believe’s announced Toy Story water-play area offers another option; check posted eligibility for each feature.
Read Disney’s pool restrictions and check Believe’s attraction-specific height, age and supervision rules. If your child does not qualify for a feature, a different time of day will not change eligibility.

Two children can need two different water areas
If one child wants an attraction and another needs toddler play, decide which adult accompanies each child before splitting up. A larger number of features does not automatically mean both children can be supervised from one chair.
Compare useful time, not just opening hours
Allow for changing, sunscreen, a bathroom stop and the walk back to the room. That is the practical side of my later-dining preference: the family can enjoy the afternoon without treating the advertised dinner time as the moment we start getting ready.
Do not promise a queue strategy before the ship sails
We can make sensible plans around the published schedule, but Believe does not yet have a real-world history of wait times. I will not tell you a particular hour is guaranteed to be quiet. For a first cruise, having a second activity in mind is more useful than building the afternoon around an untested prediction.

Using Believe’s published plans, locate the family pools, eligible toddler water-play area, adult spaces, restrooms, shade and food locations. For a family with children of different ages, check whether the spaces each child can use are close enough for your supervision plan.

I would compare the posted opening hours with your port and dining schedule. Early sessions or time onboard during a port stop may be less busy, but crowds, weather and operations vary. Pick a window that fits your family and check conditions onboard; do not sacrifice a priority excursion for a promised “empty pool.”
Seating, Shade, and Crowd Strategy
Choose a spot where the supervising adult can see the child’s activity area. Check available shade and follow the ship’s chair-use rules rather than leaving belongings to hold unused seats. Lifeguards do not replace your family’s supervision plan. If children need different areas, decide which adult is responsible for each child.

The takeaway is simple: do not chase the “perfect” pool time. Choose the pool deck window that supports the rest of your day. If your child naps hard after lunch, morning pool time may be the winner. If your family loves sleeping in, late afternoon may feel better even if seating is not perfect.
For shorter sailings, I would be more intentional. You have fewer chances to use the pool deck, so embarkation day or an early sea day window may be worth prioritizing. On longer cruises, you have more room to experiment and adjust after you see how your family responds onboard.
This is where my preference for later dining makes a difference. With a dinner around 5:45 p.m., I often need our family of four back in the room by about 4:30 p.m. to shower and change. A first-time cruiser may picture a full afternoon by the pool without allowing for that getting-ready time.
Later dining gives our family more breathing room to enjoy the afternoon. It will not suit every child’s bedtime or appetite, so compare the whole day rather than the dinner time alone. My experience comes from five Wish sailings, four Treasure sailings and four Destiny sailings; Believe’s actual pool crowds and routines cannot be reviewed before it begins sailing.
Family Planning Tips for the Pool Deck
Pack swimsuits, sunscreen, hats, cover-ups, shoes and a wet bag in your embarkation carry-on if swimming is a priority. Keep essential medication and dry clothes accessible. Plan short sessions around meals and rest rather than assuming children will comfortably spend an entire sea day at the pool.
Food, Drinks, Towels, and Convenience Factors
Check towel locations, food-service hours and nearby restrooms onboard. Keep valuables secure and take a break if you need to leave your supervision position. The location of a restaurant on a sister ship does not establish Believe’s poolside food options.
