Part of our Disney Lakeshore Lodge planning guide.

The Lakeshore Lodge opening date is July 1, 2027. Public rental reservations opened October 8, 2026, and Disney now invites all guests to book available stays. DVC membership is not required for a cash reservation.

Your price depends on the travel dates, party, accommodation and package. Use a dated quote for the full stay; a single headline nightly rate cannot represent every Lakeshore Lodge room.

The two dates that matter most are different: when you can reserve a room and when you can actually stay in it. At Lakeshore Lodge, the general booking rollout has already happened, while the resort opening is still ahead.

Here is how I would turn the opening news into a clear booking plan. Start with the right dates, room type and way to pay.

Lakeshore Lodge opening date and reservation timeline

Lakeshore Lodge opening and rental reservation dates
DateWhat it means
October 6, 2026Early rental reservations opened for DVC members
October 7, 2026Early rental reservations opened for Walt Disney World Annual Passholders
October 8, 2026Rental reservations opened to all guests
July 1, 2027Announced resort opening; public booking page invites stays starting this date

These dates come from Disney’s official announcement and resort page. The October booking dates are in 2026; the July opening date is in 2027. As of this guide’s verification date, the public booking window is open.

Use Disney’s current resort page for the current opening status. You may be able to book the dates while some room types are full.

Do you need to be a DVC member to book?

No. All guests can request an available cash stay. Disney gave DVC members early access to rental reservations on October 6, followed by Annual Passholders on October 7 and everyone on October 8.

“Rental reservation” in that announcement should not be treated as a points chart or a promise of member inventory. For Vacation Points or a member offer, check which rooms and dates you can book. Use DVC Member Services or your member account for the current rules.

Likewise, a cash quote through a travel advisor is different from a third-party points-rental arrangement. Compare the actual provider, payment conditions, change rules and cancellation terms for the product you are considering.

For a hotel vacation, start with a cash quote for the room and dates that fit. You do not need to resolve every ownership question before comparing that stay.

How much does Lakeshore Lodge cost?

There is no single useful price for the whole resort. A Duo Studio for two, a two-bedroom villa for nine and a waterfront Lake House solve different needs and can have different rates.

Disney’s announcement establishes what can be booked; it does not replace a quote for your specific vacation. I would compare the full stay using these details:

What to compare in a Lakeshore Lodge quote
Cost factorQuestion to answer
Dates and lengthAre both quotes for the same arrival, departure and number of nights?
Party and roomDo both quotes accommodate every guest in a suitable bed layout?
View and extrasIs the same view or Club Level benefit included?
Tickets and package itemsAre tickets, dates and options equivalent, or is one quote room-only?
Taxes and totalWhat is the full amount for the stay, including applicable taxes?
Payment and cancellationWhat is due now, what is due later, and what changes may incur a charge?

If two offers look different, first make them comparable. A room-only quote and a package with theme park tickets should not be judged by the total alone. Check the room, nights, traveler ages and ticket features line by line.

For simple perspective, a hypothetical $100 nightly difference over five nights is $500 before tax. That is an arithmetic example, not a Lakeshore Lodge rate. Decide whether the extra space, facilities or view would earn that difference during your trip.

Compare useful space before a premium view

For some families, the most valuable upgrade is a separate bedroom. For others, two fixed queen beds will do more than a kitchenette. A larger accommodation is only a good value if its layout supports the way your group travels.

A family of five should pay particular attention to capacity: Resort Queen Rooms and Deluxe Studios are listed for four, while one-bedroom villas and one-bedroom Lake Houses are listed for five. Compare the published Lakeshore Lodge room capacities before requesting a price.

Include the costs around the room

Think about tickets, meals, transportation to Walt Disney World, any paid transportation you plan to use and optional experiences. A kitchen can support simple meals, but savings depend on how often you use it and what you buy.

Club Level needs the same practical check. Look at the actual eligible category and service schedule. Refreshments in a lounge do not automatically cover the restaurant meals you already want to book.

Should you book the opening season?

Choose it because the timing and resort suit your vacation. For a traveler who enjoys a new opening, staying during the first season can be part of the excitement.

If your trip depends on a certain restaurant, pool or play feature or room location, confirm its expected availability for your dates. Keep your cancellation and change deadlines easy to find, and read supplier updates when they arrive.

If you prefer a hotel with an established operating history, compare the same dates at Wilderness Lodge. That comparison still needs a current refurbishment check: an existing hotel can also have work scheduled during a stay.

Our Lakeshore Lodge vs Wilderness Lodge guide explains the room, dining and recreation differences. It can help you decide which questions to ask before you choose either quote.

A practical Lakeshore Lodge booking checklist

  1. Choose travel dates: make sure the proposed stay falls within the resort’s available booking period.
  2. List the whole party: include adult and child ages, sleeping arrangements and any essential accessibility needs.
  3. Pick two room options: compare a category that meets the basics with one that adds a benefit you would actually use.
  4. Request the full price: use the same nights, party and ticket assumptions for each option.
  5. Read inclusions: confirm view wording, kitchen facilities, Club Level access and any package benefits.
  6. Check payment and change terms: know the deposit, balance date, cancellation deadline and any penalties for your specific booking.
  7. Keep the supplier confirmation: check the resort name, room category, guests and dates when it arrives.
  8. Plan dining separately: set the relevant planning date and check when the new venues release reservations.

Do not treat a room request as a guaranteed feature. Connecting rooms, a particular floor and a preferred building location should be discussed in terms of what the supplier can actually confirm.

What happens after the room is booked?

First, review the confirmation while any correction is still easy to address. Then connect the hotel plan with your park days, meals and resort breaks.

Disney currently publishes check-in from 4:00 p.m. and check-out at 11:00 a.m. for Lakeshore Lodge. Those times are useful when thinking about arrival and departure days; they do not guarantee an early room or late checkout.

Disney also lists complimentary transportation and eligible park-time benefits, subject to valid admission and the applicable schedule. Review the current details for your travel dates instead of assuming a benefit from a different year applies.

Use the dining guide for meal and reservation planning, and the pool and lazy river guide to leave enough time at the resort. The Lakeshore Lodge overview brings the location and travel details together.

Lakeshore Lodge booking questions

When does Lakeshore Lodge open?

Disney announces July 1, 2027. Check its current resort page and the dates on your own booking confirmation.

Are Lakeshore Lodge reservations open now?

Yes. As of October 30, 2026, public rental reservations are open. Disney opened them to all guests on October 8, 2026.

Does it open in 2026?

No. The announced resort opening is in 2027. The October 2026 dates refer to the reservation rollout.

Can you book without buying DVC?

Yes. DVC ownership is not required to request an available cash reservation through the public booking process.

Is the DVC rental-booking date the same as a points-booking date?

Do not assume they are the same. Disney’s public announcement describes rental reservations. Verify any Vacation Points booking window and eligible inventory directly with DVC.

Can a travel advisor help book Lakeshore Lodge?

Traveling Ears Vacations can help compare available cash stays, room categories and vacation packages for your dates. The final options and terms depend on the supplier’s current inventory.

Will the cheapest room always be the best value?

It depends on the trip. Compare the beds, space and facilities you need, then the full price. A lower rate is not useful if the category does not fit your party.
