Unleashing Fun at Atlantis: The Ultimate Guide to Atlantis Kids Club and Family Activities

Unleashing Fun at Atlantis

As a mother who has taken my children to Atlantis Bahamas every year since they were born, I can confidently say that this resort is a paradise for families. The Atlantis Kids Club and other activities for children are unmatched, offering a wealth of entertainment and educational opportunities. In this guide, I’ll dive deep into all the fun and engaging activities available for kids at Atlantis, including age-specific options, booking details, and personal anecdotes from our annual visits.

Atlantis Kids Club

The Atlantis Kids Club, also known as Atlantis Kids Adventures (AKA), is the heart of children’s activities at the resort. Designed for children ages 3 to 12, the Kids Club offers a variety of themed adventures and activities that cater to different interests and age groups.

Activities and Age Groups

  • 3-5 Years Old: The youngest guests can enjoy interactive storytime, arts and crafts, and games designed to stimulate creativity and social interaction. My daughter, Paisley, particularly loved the themed craft sessions where she could make her own underwater creatures.
  • 6-9 Years Old: Kids in this age group can participate in culinary lessons, theater arts, and interactive games. My son, Parker, has always been fascinated by the cooking classes where he learned to make simple, fun dishes.
  • 10-12 Years Old: Older kids can take part in more advanced activities like marine exploration, digital game design, and outdoor adventures. Parker enjoyed the marine life programs where he learned about the resort’s conservation efforts and got up close with some fascinating sea creatures.

Booking Details

It is recommended to book the Atlantis Kids Club activities in advance, especially during peak seasons. You can reserve spots online or through the resort’s concierge. We usually book our kids’ activities a few weeks before our trip to ensure they get into their favorite programs.

Family Activities and Attractions

Beyond the Kids Club, Atlantis offers a myriad of activities that the whole family can enjoy. Here’s a detailed look at what’s available:

The Arcade

The Atlantis Arcade is a haven for kids and teens who love video games and arcade classics. With a wide range of games, from racing simulators to claw machines, there’s something for everyone. Parker and Paisley always make a beeline for the air hockey tables, where they engage in friendly sibling competition.

The Lagoon and Marine Habitat

The Marine Habitat at Atlantis is one of the largest open-air marine habitats in the world, featuring over 50,000 marine animals. Kids can explore the lagoons and learn about different species through interactive exhibits.

  • The Dig: This interactive aquarium is themed around the lost city of Atlantis and features tunnels and caves filled with marine life. My kids love exploring The Dig and spotting their favorite sea creatures.
  • Predator Lagoon: Here, adventurous kids can view sharks, barracudas, and other predatory fish from the safety of underwater tunnels and observation windows.

Beach and Pools

Atlantis boasts several beautiful beaches and a variety of pools catering to different age groups and preferences.

  • Atlantis Beach: A pristine stretch of sand perfect for building sandcastles and swimming. It’s our favorite spot to relax and enjoy the ocean breeze.
  • Splashers Pool: This water playground is designed for younger kids, with shallow pools, mini water slides, and interactive water features.
  • The Current: A mile-long river ride with rolling rapids and wave surges, ideal for older kids and adults looking for a thrilling water adventure.

Aquaventure Waterpark

The Aquaventure Waterpark at Atlantis is a must-visit attraction for families. It features thrilling water slides, a lazy river, and a splash pad, ensuring endless fun for kids of all ages.

Water Slides and Height Requirements

  • The Abyss: This slide plunges riders into total darkness before dropping them into a deep cenote. Height requirement: 48 inches.

  • The Surge: This inner tube slide takes riders on a twisting, turning ride through tunnels and open sections. Height requirement: 48 inches.
  • Leap of Faith: A near-vertical drop slide that sends riders through a clear tunnel submerged in a shark-filled lagoon. Height requirement: 48 inches.

  • Jungle Slide: A fun, winding slide suitable for younger kids. Height requirement: 42 inches.
  • Splashers Slides: Located in the Splashers Pool area, these slides are perfect for younger children. No height requirement but supervision is required.

Lazy River and Splash Pad

  • The Current: This lazy river ride offers a relaxing float with occasional wave surges and rapids, making it enjoyable for both kids and adults.
  • Splashers Splash Pad: A designated area for younger kids, featuring water cannons, fountains, and small slides.

Dolphin Cay

Dolphin Cay offers unforgettable experiences with dolphins and sea lions. These programs are educational and fun, allowing kids to learn about marine life conservation while interacting with these amazing animals.

  • Shallow Water Interaction: Suitable for all ages, this experience allows kids to meet and touch dolphins in shallow water.
  • Deep Water Swim: For stronger swimmers aged 10 and up, this program includes swimming alongside dolphins and even a thrilling “foot push” across the lagoon.
  • Sea Lion Interaction: Kids can meet and interact with friendly sea lions, learning about their behavior and habitats.

Kids Concierge and Babysitting

For parents looking for some time to themselves, Atlantis offers babysitting services and a dedicated Kids Concierge. The babysitting service is available for children of all ages and can be booked through the resort. The Kids Concierge can help plan daily activities and ensure that your children have a memorable and safe experience.
