The Disney Dining Plan has officially returned to Walt Disney World for vacations, giving families a convenient way to prepay meals, manage budgets, and enjoy a smoother park experience.
The Disney Dining Plan returned for eligible Walt Disney World vacation packages beginning January 9, 2024. For 2026, Disney offers the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan and Disney Dining Plan. For 2027, the choices are the Quick-Service Dining Plan, Table-Service Dining Plan and Deluxe Table-Service Dining Plan. This long-awaited return is exciting news for families who love convenience, predictability, and maximizing value while in the parks.
The Disney Dining Plan is an optional add-on that allows you to prepay meals in advance, making it easier to plan your days and reduce out-of-pocket spending once you arrive.
What’s Included in the Disney Dining Plan
On the 2026 Disney Dining Plan, called the Table-Service Dining Plan in 2027, each guest age 3 and up receives the meal and snack allowances below per night of stay, plus one Resort-Refillable Drink Mug per guest for the stay:
- 1 Quick-Service Meal
- 1 Table-Service Meal
- 1 Snack or Non-Alcoholic Beverage
- 1 Resort-Refillable Drink Mug
Disney Dining Plan Cost
- 2026 Disney Dining Plan, guests ages 10+: $98.59 per night, subject to change
- Children ages 3–9: a free plan is available with qualifying 2026 packages when a dining plan is purchased for every guest age 10 or older; confirm your package eligibility and current quote
How the Disney Dining Plan Works
Dining credits are issued based on the number of nights in your stay. For example, a four-night stay provides each guest with four table-service meals, four quick-service meals, and four snacks or beverages.
Credits can be used at any time during your stay and will roll over from day to day. All unused credits expire at midnight on your checkout day.
Important Things to Know
- Beverages are included with meals. Guests 21+ may substitute alcohol where available.
- Signature dining, select character meals, and dinner shows require two table-service credits.
- Children ages 3–9 must order from children’s menus where offered.
- The dining plan must be purchased for the entire stay and entire party (ages 3+).

Disney Dining Plan FAQ
What is the Disney Dining Plan?
The Disney Dining Plan is a prepaid meal plan you can add to a Walt Disney World vacation package, allowing you to pay for meals ahead of time instead of paying out of pocket during your trip.
How much does the Disney Dining Plan cost?
For 2026, the published adult prices are approximately $60.47 per night for the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan and $98.59 per night for the Disney Dining Plan, subject to change. Check your package quote for the current total and for 2027 pricing. Gratuities are extra.
Do kids get the Disney Dining Plan for free?
For qualifying 2026 packages, children ages 3–9 can receive a free dining plan when a plan is purchased for every guest age 10 or older on the reservation. That offer should not be assumed for 2027: Disney describes the 2027 children’s value as savings of up to 20% compared with eligible menu purchases, with actual savings depending on what is ordered.
What’s the difference between the Quick-Service and Standard Dining Plans?
The quick-service option focuses on counter-service meals. The 2026 Disney Dining Plan, called the Table-Service Dining Plan in 2027, adds table-service meals and eligible character dining. The 2027 Deluxe Table-Service Dining Plan includes two table-service meals per night. Participation and meal requirements depend on the location.
Is the Disney Dining Plan worth it?
It depends on how your family eats. Families who enjoy character meals, full sit-down dining, and budgeting ahead often find strong value. Lighter eaters may prefer paying out of pocket.
Does the Dining Plan include tips?
No. Gratuities are not included and are paid separately at table-service restaurants.
Can I use the Dining Plan for character meals?
Eligible character meals accept table-service meals from participating plans. Some require two meals per person, including Cinderella’s Royal Table, Story Book Dining at Artist Point, and Akershus lunch and dinner. Check the specific restaurant and meal period before reserving.
Does everyone in the room have to be on the Dining Plan?
Yes. Everyone in the room ages 3 and up must be on the same Dining Plan for the entire stay.
Can I add or remove the Dining Plan later?
In most cases, the Dining Plan can be added, changed, or removed before your final payment date.
Can I buy the Dining Plan without staying at a Disney hotel?
No. Dining plans require an eligible Walt Disney Travel Company package with a Disney Resorts Collection hotel stay; they are not standalone purchases for off-site stays. Confirm the eligible package and ticket requirements for your reservation.
How do I know if the Dining Plan is right for my family?
The right choice depends on your family’s eating habits, ages, and dining preferences. A Disney-focused travel advisor can help you decide what makes the most sense.
